Cruisers of South Florida was formed to bring together those
who love custom and specialty cars. We are an organization
composed of a wide variety of different types of cars and
we welcome members who just want to have fun and belong to
a club run by its members. But in addition, it gives us the
opportunity to give back to our local community in the form
of donations to Charities. Each month, a charity is selected
by the members and we collectively decide how, and to what
extent, we can help. A monetary fund is set aside within the
club treasury for the disbursement of money as voted by the
members. Listed below is a list of the Charities we have helped....
A cash donation was made to the Miami Fisher House facility.
This is a Ronald McDonald House type facility located in
close proximity to many Veteran's Hospitals around the U.S
to provide housing, etc services to the families of our
wounded veterans being cared for at local VA hospitals.
A cash donation made to the American Heart Association,
Ft. Lauderdale Chapter, in honor of all our Club's Valentines.
A cash donation made to one of our member families who lost
their home and all possessions to a fire recently. They
were fortunate to get out alive and save not only themselves
but their dog also thanks to an alert neighbor.
A cash donation made to Nicklaus Children's Hospital (formerly
Miami Children's Hospital) for the kids being served there.
A cash donation to the Broward Education Foundation for the
Marjorie Stoneman Douglas Fund to aid the victims families
of the shooting tragedy of Valentine's Day.
A cash donation to Tomorrow's Rainbow, a local organization
dedicated to assisting children who have suffered the loss
of a loved one, using equine therapy with miniature horses.
A cash donation made to the Ft. Lauderdale Chapter of the
American Cancer Society in honor of our members the Grasso's
whose son is suffering from this terrible disease.
A cash donation made to the Tri-County Animal Rescue organization,
a no kill shelter and adoption organization serving Dade,
Broward, and Palm Beach counties.

Society. They had recently taken in many animals needing
shelter from the storms in the Florida Panhandle and some
of the Caribbean Islands.
A cash donation made to the Broward Outreach Center in Hollywood,
Fl. The outreach center is a provider of housing and meals
to the homeless in Broward County.
An in kind donation of over 25 bags and boxes filled with
toys, games, and clothing made to the Head Start group at
the Broward School Board to provide for some of the neediest
children and families serviced by the program. Our members
donated a varied assortment of items to insure that each
of the families served would find something to make sure
that the kids wouldn't be forgotten this Holiday season.
Proceeds of the 31st annual Toys in the Sun Run car show
made to support the kids at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital,
Hollywood, Fl. and the James Jr. Fund, Davie, Fl.
a cash donation to the Ft Lauderdale Chapter of Honor Flight
the organization that brings older U.S. military veterans
free of charge, up to Washington, D.C. to take in all of
the veteran's memorials in the Nation's Capital. This project
began with the completion of the WWII memorial and the realization
that many of our veterans who served in that war were getting
up in age and deserved to see "their" memorial.
a cash donation to Y.A.T.C. (the Youth Automotive Training
Center) to purchase a brick to be placed in the entry way
path to their Deerfield Beach facility. This organization,
founded by Jim Moran, is dedicated to assisting at risk
young people in completing their GED (if applicable), and
providing automotive training so that they can succeed in
life with a career.
A cash donation was made to Tomorrow's Rainbow, a local
organization dedicated to helping children deal with the
grief of losing a parent or other loved one. Several of
our members volunteer at this organization.

Church in Miramar, Fl. to support their local food pantry
dedicated to serving the less fortunate members of their
church and local community

of the Alzheimer's Association to support their efforts
in our community.
A cash donation made to the Compassionate Friends in Ft.
Lauderdale, a grief support group that serves parents who
have lost a child, in memory of one of our founding members,
Robert (Bob) Rogers who recently passed away after a battle
with cancer. Bob was also one of the original founders of
this organization many years ago after he and his wife Dolly
lost their son Tommy.
July a donation of over $1400 of assorted school supplies
and backpacks made to the children served by the Women In
Distress Center of Broward County. At any given time the
Center supports over 200 women who come to the Center with
school aged children.

September, 2017, A cash donation of $100 made to
the Florida Keys Healthy Start Coalition for Hurricane Irma
relief. This donation allowed us to earmark funds for supplies
specifically for infant and baby care items like formula
and diapers per the request of our club members.
2017, A cash donation of $100 to the Breast Cancer Research
Foundation in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and
our breast cancer survivor members.

Meetings are open
to all and you do not have to be a member to attend. Come
