About Us

The Cruisers of South Florida was formed to bring together those who love custom and specialty cars. Although primarily made up of PT Cruisers, we welcome members who just want to have fun and belong to a club run by its members. But in addition, it gives us the opportunity to give back to our local community in the form of donations to Charities. Each month, a charity is selected by the members and we collectively decide how and to what extent we can help. A monetary fund is set aside within the club treasury for the disbursement of money as voted by the members. Listed below is a list of the Charities we have helped....

April - Donations of Personal Care Products were made to Operation Hope Tote, Broward Outreach Center
May - Used cellular phones were collected and donated to Women in Distress in Fort Lauderdale (This is an ongoing project)
June - $250 donation to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Coral Springs Center,as well as a food donation to the Broward Outreach Center
July - $100 donation to Our Father's House Soup Kitchen in Pompano Beach
August - "Back to School" project to coincide with the "Give-A-Little..Help A Lot" program sponsored by Sawgrass Mills and the Florida Department of Children and Families. School supplies were collected for the foster children of South Florida.
September - $50 Donation to the Breast Cancer Fund.
October - Organized a Blood Drive at Towers for the South Florida Blood Banks
November -
Conducted a Canned Food Donation Drive for the homeless in Broward Outreach Program
December - We "Adopted" a needy family and gave gifts of food certificates and toys for the children

Evie Schwartz, (Charities@CruisersOfSouthFlorida.com) maintains a record book which includes a list of the donations, literature about the charities and organizations as well as receipts and thank-you letters. This record book is always available for review at the monthly meetings. Members are encouraged to suggest organizations they would like to see supported. Our meetings are the second Tuesday of every month at 7 PM, at the Anglesea Pub, located at 200 McNab Road in Pompano Beach. Meetings are open to all and you do not have to be a member to attend. Come and see what we are about and if you like what you see, dues are $25.00 per year for family membership. You may download and print an application by clicking here.
